DALLES, ONTARIO / WINNIPEG, MANITOBA – October 27th, 2026 – Cypher Environmental and Weyerhaeuser, in partnership with Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation and Miisun Integrated Resource Management Company, are officially recognizing the completion of a Cypher Green Roads™ project on Dalles Road in Northwestern Ontario.
Completed late September, 2026, the project applied Cypher Environmental’s Canadian-manufactured DUST/BLOKR® technology to approximately 3.1 kilometres of unpaved community road.
Dalles Road plays an important role in daily community life for Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation, providing access toward the main Highway and to Kenora for employment, education, health care, essential services and shopping; while also supporting access to traditional activities, within the community itself.
The collaborative project brings together First Nation leadership, forestry and Canadian cleantech to address real road challenges, namely replacing harmful road salts with a higher performance, non-corrosive and locally made alternative [DUST/BLOKR®]. The project is designed to reduce dust, improve road conditions and safety, reduce ongoing maintenance requirements and costs, and demonstrate a more environmentally responsible approach to managing unpaved community roads.
To officially recognize the project, Cypher Environmental, Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation, and project partners hosted a community celebration and Lunch & Learn last week, bringing together Chief and Council, community members, project partners, industry leaders, government representatives, and regional stakeholders.

The day began with a traditional welcome ceremony led by community Elders, followed by remarks from project partners and an opportunity for guests to experience the completed project firsthand by walking the newly treated road. Guests then gathered for a community lunch and learnt more about Cypher Green Roads™, highlighting the project’s achievements and exploring future opportunities for improving unpaved roads across Northwestern Ontario.
“Dust suppression and surface stability are ongoing challenges when it comes to managing unpaved roads, and many of the common practices are costly and time intensive,” said Erik Holmstrom, General Manager of Weyerhaeuser’s Ontario Timberlands. “The Dalles Road project was an opportunity to come together with our partners at Cypher Environmental, the Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation and Miisun to demonstrate innovative technologies that address these challenges and improve access, safety and quality of life for everybody who lives and works in the community.”
“Cypher Green Roads™ is about bringing communities and partners together to create meaningful, lasting improvements,” said Todd Burns, CEO of Cypher Environmental. “This project is a great example of what can happen when First Nations leadership, industry and Canadian innovation work together. We’re proud to be part of this partnership and look forward to seeing the long-term impact for the community.”

The Dalles Road project also creates an opportunity for First Nations, forestry, mining, infrastructure, energy and construction organizations across Northwestern Ontario to see the technology in a real-world community application and explore how collaborative projects can help address similar unpaved road challenges throughout the region.
The project is part of the Cypher Green Roads™ program, an initiative that brings communities, industry and partners together to improve unpaved roads through collaborative projects using high-performance dust control and road stabilization technologies.
