After many months of stringent testing, we are pleased to announce that DUST/BLOKR® SB is now certified as a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency EPA Safer Choice dust control product. The EPA Safer Choice program was created to help consumers, businesses, and purchases find products that perform and contain ingredients that are safer for human health and the environment. Products with the Safer Choice label have met extensive requirements set forth by the EPA that include use of safer chemical ingredients, without sacrificing quality or performance. It also means that every ingredient in the product has been carefully evaluated by EPA scientists for safety and performance.
What the EPA Safer Choice label means
A product with the Safer Choice label contains ingredients that:
- Meet EPA’s Safer Product Standards.
- Meet performance standards.
- Help protect people, pets, and the environment.
- Are safer for people, pets, and the planet.
- Are safer for workplaces and communities.
- Are safer for fish, aquatic life, and waterways.
Participation in the EPA Safer Choice program is voluntary. It is up to individual companies to pursue this distinction for their products. Although it was a rigorous process, pursuing this label was a meaningful pursuit for our team. DUST/BLOKR® is made of a natural and organic blend of sugars, starches, and minerals. All ingredients used in DUST/BLOKR® are part of the safer chemical ingredients list. When used on roads and soil, the product poses no adverse effect on the environment, for people nor for the vehicles and equipment used during application. We are proud that DUST/BLOKR® is one of the only EPA Safer Choice dust control / dust suppressant products on the safer choice list.

The Safer Choice label or Design for the Environment logo signifies that the product’s formula, as Cypher Environmental has represented it to the EPA, contains ingredients that meet stringent EPA criteria for effects on human health and the environment. EPA relies solely on Cypher Environmental, its integrity and good faith, for information on the product’s composition, ingredients, and attributes. EPA has not independently identified, that is, via chemical analysis, the ingredients in the product formula, nor evaluated any of Cypher Environmental non-ingredient claims. EPA provides its evaluation only as to the product’s human health and environmental characteristics, as specified in the Safer Choice and Design for the Environment Standard and based on currently available information and scientific understanding.
