The Transportation Association of Canada recently hosted an online conference and exhibition with over 1,300 leaders, influencers from municipalities, academia, provincial and territorial transport departments, and the private sector. Among the 300+ presentations was Hamid Mumin, Professor and Chair of the Department of Geology at Brandon University.
Cypher Environmental has been working with Brandon University and Dr. Mumin for over six years. In that time, he’s been a champion for our solutions in continuing to be a major partner in our research and development team. The relationship with Brandon University has provided substantial third party evidence of how our road stabilization solutions provide a sustainable approach to reducing the environmental footprint of unpaved secondary roads in Canada. However, reductions in material costs to build the roads and long term reductions in operating costs to maintain them have been shown as well.
Dr. Mumin’s current research focus is on the stabilization of gravel roads and resource development. He has completed several projects with Cypher Environmental. The focus of his presentation, Cohesive Clays for Road Stabilization, was bonding clay using ROAD//STABILIZR® on gravel roads.
In case you missed it, we’ve posted the full video here. Other recordings from TAC are available on their event portal until March 2021 here.
It was great to see our technologies being discussed on a national level, and we look forward to the opportunity to make a major impact on a path towards a more sustainable approach to the development and management of Canada’s future road infrastructure network. A big thank-you to Dr. Mumin for continuing his great work!
