We are seeking a reliable and highly ambitious Geotechnical Specialist / Engineering Specialist to work with our variety of solutions in a technically based capacity. In this role, you will focus on soil and product testing, product applications, supporting clients, and project builds. The qualified individual will also provide assistance with other initiatives in various departments within the organization such as research and development. Essential Position Requirements
As a Geotechnical Specialist/Engineering Specialist for Cypher, you must be an adaptable, self-motivated, high-energy person with a strong work ethic and a coachable attitude. You must be a highly personable individual that has strong communication skills, and the ability to take-on special projects upon request. The ideal candidate will be able to work both independently as well as in a team setting.
Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
- Must have a technical background such as P.Eng, CET, P.Geo., or equivalent experience
- Experience in soil testing (classification, Sieve Analysis, Hydrometer, Atterberg, Proctor, CBR and ASTM)
- Experience in a fast-paced production and/or product development environment preferable in a research and development laboratory setting
- Experience with or equivalent understanding of building and/or designing roads
- Understanding of aggregate and expansive materials
- Exceptional communication skills
- Educational skills relating to civil engineering practices
- Proficiency in MS SharePoint and Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated willingness to take initiative and desire to learn and seek new ideas
- Demonstrated ability to complete all tasks with keen attention to detail
- On-site project management experience
- If required, able to travel both domestically and internationally (travel during the summer months will be required)
Duties and Responsibilities:

Salary
$45,000 – $90,000 per year. Compensation will be based on candidate’s experience and related understanding of the role.
