Canada-China Green Mining Workshop

Cypher Environmental was recently invited to once again make a presentation at the Canada – China Green Mining Innovation Workshop, held in conjunction with the China Mining Conference, on October 30, 2014. The event was put on through a combined effort from the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNIA) and Natural Resources Canada. This was the second of such events, the first of which Cypher also presented at during the Prospectors and Developers’ Association of Canada event in 2013 in Toronto, ON, Canada.

Cypher was chosen to present again at this year’s event due to the great work Cypher has been doing over the last few years in the mining industry in China. Namely, the introduction of ROAD//STABILIZR® as an innovative soil stabilization solution for a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative for the building and maintenance of high performance haul roads. ROAD//STABILIZR® has been chosen as the product of choice because it allows for the use of insitu high clay content materials to replace more expensive, scarce materials such as gravel.

This is of high relevance to the Canada – China Green Mining Initiative because it represents a more sustainable solution for the building of environmentally friendly haul roads. Furthermore, as a side effect, ROAD//STABILIZR® has also significantly reduced the dust production resulting from the haul truck traffic on the roads, reducing the overall environmental impact of the mines and making the technology even more attractive to the green initiative.

Since this year’s event took place in China, Beijing STS Instrument Co. Ltd., Cypher’s exclusive distributor in China, gave the presentation on behalf of Cypher, which was very well attended. Pictured here are scenes from the event, including Ms. Liu Yunyun, one of STS’s engineers and ROAD//STABILIZR® experts, giving her presentation on the technology. Cypher and STS will continue to take part in such events to help spread the awareness of the innovative green mining technologies we have to offer in both the Chinese and Canadian markets.
