Cypher creates a premium line of dust control, soil stabilization and bioremediation solutions. We help solve issues in a wide variety of applications such as road building and contaminant bioremediation.

Essential Position Requirements:

The Lab Assistant conducts research on new and current products as well as provides technical support to the company. This individual is responsible for product research, development and testing, project parameter review, some client communications, technical support, technical writing, presentation and documentation. The Lab Assistant plays a pivotal role in this international company, supporting all aspects of the business, lending knowledge and experience at all levels.

This project will be partly funded by CICan 1 program; as such the candidate must be a Canadian citizen under 30 years of age who is currently unemployed or underemployed.

The following requirements are essential:

  • Recent graduates (less than three years) from a post-secondary program
  • No more than 30 years of age at the start of the internship
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons granted refugee status in Canada
  • Legally allowed to work according to the relevant provincial and Canadian legislation and regulations
  • Not receiving employment insurance during their internship
  • Not having previously participated to a Youth Employment Strategy Program
  • Available to work for at least six months
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production and/or product development environment preferably in a research & development (R&D) laboratory setting

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Research and collect data through complex techniques and procedures, library research, structured interviews or other project specific methodology
  • Conduct small scale research and testing
  • Collect and analyze data
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Provide ready access to all experimental data for the faculty researcher and/or supervisor
  • Request or acquire equipment or supplies necessary for the project
  • Manage and respond to project related emails
  • Attend project related meetings as necessary
  • Perform other related duties as required
