Continued Talks on Innovation at the CAMESE Procurement Forum

Cypher Environmental has been a proud member of CAMESE for the past several years, and was delighted to once again take part in the 2016 CAMESE Procurement Forum, which was developed this year in collaboration with the CMIC. The forum took place at the Mississauga Hilton, in Mississauga, Ontario, on November 16th – 17th, 2016. CAMESE , an acronym for the Canadian Association for Equipment and Services for Export, and the CMIC, the Canadian Mining Innovation Council, are both excellent avenues for companies like Cypher to help showcase their innovative technologies, both in Canada and around the world. Therefore it was an easy decision for Cypher to take part in this year’s forum.

Aptly named, “Bridging the Gap – 2.0”, the Procurement Forum this year focused on “Innovation in Mining”, on day one, and “What’s in the Project Pipeline”, on day two. In short, Bridging the Gap was a two day networking event where participants were able to learn about business opportunities in terms of what innovation means to mining companies, what the key factors are to consider and where the money is being spent right now. This was perfectly aligned with the goals of companies such as Cypher, which are so heavily reliant on understanding the needs of its customers to help spur innovation, to assist in the growth strategy of the business.

Attendees had the opportunity to hear from global players in the mining industry, such as Barrick Gold, Glencore, GoldCorp, HudBay and others, regarding their upcoming projects and needs, so the companies in the audience could learn how their innovative solutions may bridge this gap. For Cypher, it was another tremendous opportunity to share the cost saving and environmental benefits of their most recent innovation, Dust Stop Municipal Blend, which was recently discussed in the post regarding MinExpo. Of course, Cypher’s soil stabilization and water remediation solutions still offer highly innovative solutions to help solve some current problems in the mining industry today, however, by participating in events such as the CAMESE procurement forum, it not only offers Cypher the opportunity to share the details on their most recent innovations, but also helps spur ideas to create new ones.

Thanks to CAMESE and CMIC for the efforts to gather the industry at such a rewarding event and Cypher looks forward to participating again next year! For information on future events we will be attending, please contact us.
